DANR Redistricting Plan

DANR's proposed redistricting map for New York State Assembly District 72. Prepared by Nestor Montilla, Sr.
DANR’s Proposed Map for New York State Assembly District 72

This DANR proposal is based on the New York State’s 2010 population of 19,378,102 people, as reported by the 2010 U.S. Census Bureau. Considering this population, the average size for each NYS Assembly district would be 129,187 people. In the State of New York, each assembly district is required to be at least 5% plus or 5% minus of the average size population. Districts with too many or too few people, will have to be adjusted to be within +/- 5% in order to meet target average size.

Intended average size per assembly district may change due to other factors, including prison population and other considerations. In 2000, the average size of New York State Assembly districts was 126,510 people.
